Does giving out food count as zakat?

Question: I want to help a place that gives out food for people to make Iftar. Does it count as Zakat?

Mostly poor and lonely people eat in this kind of places. These people perhaps find the only chance to eat a proper meal in Ramadan in this kind of places. You can give your Zakat to them.
